FIREWORKS SAFETY

As holiday celebrations occur, the City of Gray Fire Department reminds residents of the fireworks law and fireworks safety tips.


As of July 1, 2018, the Georgia General Assembly adjusted the law regarding when fireworks can be used and how they may be regulated. 


The law (HB 419) allows consumer fireworks to be used or ignited at the following times:


(1) Any day beginning at 10 a.m. and ending at 11:59 p.m. 

(unless such use or ignition during such times is not in compliance with the local noise ordinance in effect in that jurisdiction).


(2) The use of fireworks is legal until 11:59 p.m. statewide around certain holidays (regardless of local legislation):
